Infection Prevention and Control in Care Homes and Domiciliary Care
The steps taken by care homes and domiciliary care agencies to protect people from infection play a crucial role in protecting staff, visitors and vulnerable people from the risks associated with infection.

Care Homes are required to have a named person who is responsible for infection prevention and control. Care Homes also have a legal responsibility to report outbreaks of infection to NHS-HSA, CC, who are responsible for advising on outbreak control and monitoring of outbreaks.
