Local people are invited to a community event later this month aimed at showcasing how joined up health and social care services are benefiting local people and communities across Colchester, Clacton and Harwich.
Community Connect will give residents the opportunity to meet representatives from the NHS, local councils and the voluntary sector as well as other organisations who work with local people.
The event will take place at Firstsite in Colchester between 9.30am and 2.30pm on Friday 10 March, and will be free for members of the public.
Firstsite will also be the setting for the monthly Suffolk and North East Essex Integrated Care Partnership (SNEE ICP) committee meeting, where system leaders from across the local NHS, councils and voluntary and community sector discuss and agree strategic service priorities for the area.
Community Connect will be hosted by the North East Essex Alliance, a local partnership which works collectively to improve the health and wellbeing of local residents.
Susannah Howard, SNEE ICP Director, said: “This is the third time our system has held this type of local community event.
“It will be an opportunity to share the work of our Integrated Care System with the people and communities that we all serve.
“The programme includes a showcase presentation involving a wide range of different partners demonstrating how they work together in north east Essex.
“They will also focus on the six domains for the ICS – start well, feel well, stay well, age well, be well and die well – as well as the key issues of prevention, health equality and how we can be a truly ‘can do’ health and care system.
“We are all looking forward meeting local residents and hearing about their experiences and their vision for health and care in north east Essex.”
