Evening and weekend appointments

We understand that it’s not always possible or convenient to speak to your GP team during Monday-Friday business hours. Find out what to do if you need to consult with your GP team in the evenings or at the weekend.

Information for patients in Suffolk

Patients in Suffolk are able to book evening and weekend appointments. These are known as enhanced access appointments, and are available Monday to Friday 6.30pm – 9.00pm, Saturdays 9am – 5pm and Sundays 9am – 5pm. There are also some early morning appointments available.

Depending on the practice you are registered with, these appointments are either offered by the Suffolk GP+ service or your practice’s Primary Care Network. This means that the location of your enhanced access appointment could be at your usual surgery, a surgery your practice is partnered with, or at one of Suffolk GP+’s clinics across Suffolk. Please note that Sunday appointments are only available at Suffolk GP+’s Ipswich clinic (Landseer Rd, IP3 0AZ).

You will be offered a face to face, telephone or video appointment depending on your needs and an assessment made by the clinician .

To access early morning, evening and weekend appointments, contact the GP practice you are registered with during normal opening hours and ask for an enhanced access (early morning, evening or weekend) appointment.
