Health and care candidate resource pack

Thank you for your interest in joining the health and care team in Suffolk and north east Essex. We can’t wait to meet you at our recruitment day.

We have hundreds of roles for you to choose from, across lots of different organisations. When you arrive at our recruitment day, we will ask you what your preferred role would be, and which organisation would be your preferred employer.

On these pages you will find lots of information about each organisation and role. The information is split across three sections based on the three different settings you could be working in: social care, hospices and acute settings (which includes hospitals).

Please do read the information carefully. You will have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have about the roles and organisations when you meet us, so do make a note of anything that comes to mind!

Roles available in acute settings

Acute care refers to short–term treatment, usually in a hospital, for patients with any kind of physical or mental health illness or injury. Acute NHS Trusts provide services such as accident and emergency departments, inpatient and outpatient medicine and surgery and in some cases very specialist medical care.

Roles available in hospices

We are recruiting Hospice Care Assistants on behalf of our local hospices. Hospice Care Assistants will work independently within a hospice setting, providing safe, competent and ethical client care under the guidance of registered healthcare professionals. They will help deliver palliative care to patients and their families, utilising set protocols and procedures.

Roles available in social care

Social care services provide support to people with learning disabilities, physical disabilities and physical illnesses.
