While some pharmacies in Suffolk and north east Essex close on bank holidays, some stay open during specific hours. Visit the NHS England website for details on which pharmacies will be opening during upcoming bank holidays.
Please note that this information is sometimes updated. Whenever possible, please call the pharmacy before you travel to double-check they will be open.
Make sure you have enough prescription medicine to last over the holiday period
Your GP surgery is likely to be closed on bank holidays so if you use prescription medicine, it is important that you order any repeat prescriptions you might need. Most GP surgeries need at least 48 hours to process a repeat prescription request so a little planning ahead could save you a lot of hassle. If you are going away for the weekend – don’t forget to take your prescription medicine with you.
