Emergency Preparedness, Resilience and Response (EPRR) and Business Continuity Planning

Back to: Health and Care Professionals Area

As an NHS organisation and Category 1 Responder under the Civil Contingencies Act, the ICB is required to have a Business Continuity Plan. We also strongly encourage all organisations to undertake business continuity planning to help themselves to become more resilient.

Who should do engage in business continuity planning?

All providers of NHS services are required, as part of the procurement process, to have a Business Continuity Plan. The scale and complexity of an organisation’s Business Continuity Management System is dependant of the size and complexity of the organisation. The NHS Business Continuity Toolkit describes the minimum requirements with some useful templates.

How can we help our partners?

If you’re one of our Integrated Care System partners and you’re looking for some support in developing your business continuity planning arrangements please don’t hesitate to get in touch and we’ll look to support you where we can, subject to our own capacity and current system demands.
