The Be Well Bus will be journeying to Stowmarket to offer support and advice to those who need help with their health and wellbeing.

There is no need to make an appointment, simply turn up and our friendly and knowledgeable crew will assist you.

Services and information provided on the bus

Staff aboard the Be Well Bus are ready to listen to any concerns you may have, and are able to provide advice and signposting on a wide range of topics covering health and wellbeing. However, specialists will be on-hand to offer particular support in the below areas.

Tuesday 16 Jan

  • Connect for Health (social prescribing service) – 10am to 3pm
    A free advice service that helps people with non-medical issues such as social isolation, financial concerns, housing issues, and benefits eligibility.
  • Mid Suffolk Leisure Centre – 10am to 11am
    Get information about community wellbeing groups and classes including activities for those living with dementia, Parkinson’s, pain or disability.
  • Suffolk Sight – 10am to 3pm
    Support and guidance based on an individual’s sight loss needs and take referrals so that community workers can visit someone in their own home to discuss daily living aid and adaptions at a later date.
  • NHS East Suffolk and North Essex Foundation Trust – Stowmarket Integrated Neighbourhood Team – 12pm to 3pm
    Falls advice, blood pressure screening, healthy behaviour advice and information to do with social care.

Wednesday 17 Jan

  • Connect for Health (social prescribing service) – 10am to 3pm
    A free advice service that helps people with non-medical issues such as social isolation, financial concerns, housing issues, and benefits eligibility.
  • Bury St Edmunds Women’s Aid Centre – 10am to 3pm
    Support for women and children experiencing domestic abuse.
  • Alzheimer’s Society – 10am to 3pm
    Dementia information and support including legal and financial matters; help with dementia care; help with daily living and staying independent.
  • Multiply Suffolk – 1pm to 3pm
    Information, advice and guidance on supporting individuals with the numeracy skills needed for everyday life.
  • NHS East Suffolk and North Essex Foundation Trust – Stowmarket Integrated Neighbourhood Team – 12pm to 3pm
    Falls advice, blood pressure screening, healthy behaviour advice and information to do with social care.

Thursday 18 Jan

  • Wellbeing Suffolk – NHS Norfolk and Suffolk Foundation Trust – 10am to 3pm
    Help and support to improve wellbeing and manage stress, low mood and anxiety.
  • Stowmarket and District Dementia Community group, part of Red Gables, Mid Suffolk Voluntary Organisations Forum – 10am to 12pm
    Dementia support, information and signposting.
  • NHS East Suffolk and North Essex Foundation Trust – Stowmarket Integrated Neighbourhood Team – 12pm to 3pm
