Local people are being asked to give their views on NHS plans to combine services for those living with the post-viral conditions Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME), chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) and Long COVID.
By bringing these services together the Suffolk and north east Essex area will be the first in the country to offer a combined medically led service, meaning those living with a condition, their families and carers, will have access to better focused treatment and support as well as improved wellbeing.
A survey has been launched to give people the opportunity to share their thoughts on the plans and how they believe services should be best shaped so that they most appropriately meet their future needs.
The survey is open until November 19 and can be accessed – Transformation of Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/ Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME & CFS) and Long COVID-19 service pathway | Lets Talk SNEE
Nerinda Evans, Deputy Director of Strategic Programmes, NHS Suffolk and North East Essex Integrated Care Board, said: “These plans represent a significant positive progression in the care offered and the support given to those living with a post-viral condition.
“By combining the services we will bring together a wealth of expertise and experience, meaning staff and services all working together for the benefit of patients.
“It is important though that we hear what people think of these plans and tell us how the new service should be shaped, so we very much encourage people to take time to complete the survey.”
