Health bus helps people in north east Essex to keep well this winter

During October a bus will be touring north east Essex to bring healthcare professionals to local people providing them with advice and support to keep them well this winter.

Travelling on the respiratory bus will be healthcare professionals and people from the voluntary sector who will provide free help and advice on a range of topics from smoking cessation, winter vaccinations and winter warmer referrals.  There will also be specialist respiratory nurses and a midwife who specialises in reducing smoking in pregnancy on the bus.

Lynn Stimson, Deputy Director North East Essex Alliance Suffolk and North East Essex ICB said: “As we approach winter we wanted people in north east Essex to be able to find out more about how they can keep healthy this winter, especially those people who are vulnerable or have a respiratory condition.”

“By bringing healthcare professionals to where people are, it gives more people the opportunity of speaking with them and finding out how to manage certain conditions.  We hope as many people as possible make use of the excellent opportunity, there is no need to book in advance – just turn up.”
