Infection Prevention and Control

The key responsibility of the Suffolk and North East Essex Infection Prevention and Control Team is to promote the provision of person-focused services that are safe, responsive and effective and that meet the principles of The Health and Social Care Act 2008 (July 2015) Code of Practice on the prevention and control of infections and related guidance.

The Code applies to all NHS bodies and providers of independent healthcare and adult social care in England, including primary medical providers, primary dental care and independent sector ambulance providers. Recognising that infection prevention and control is everyone’s responsibility, we work collaboratively with our acute trusts, primary care, hospices, care sector and all community providers, providing thought leadership, support, guidance, tools and resources in all matters infection prevention and control.
